Divine council’s own Icytwat is a 18 year old producer out of Chicago. Young and talented his beats are at a high level of production, his beat are refreshing and can’t really put in a box cause it’s a new wave and he’s just making music. Him and his council bwoys ($ilkMoney, Cyrax! and Lord Linco) have been making noise in the underground with songs like “Can’t Afford Me” and “P$42WWS” and on stage with most of the council just returning from SXSW.

What do you listen to/ influences? My biggest influence is Tyler, the Creator. I really love neo soul and 90s RnB. I fuck with Jazz too.
What got you into music? Listening to Bastard by Tyler is what really made me wanna start making music. I would always listen to shit when I was younger like Wayne and Badu and a lot of 90s rnb that made me love music.
How did divine council come together/Are you apart of it? Linco started Divine Council. It was originally him and Cyrax! Then $ilk. Then me in late 2014.
What do most people don’t know about you? I’m very tall.
How long have you been producing? Since I was 14. So about 4 years.
How did you get into making music? After I listened to Session by Tyler I downloaded mixcraft and started remaking the beat and learning the chords. Shit was amazing. From there I made odd future type beats lmao then I just started making my own shit.
Have you done any shows? Yeah I’ve done one show before in New York at SOBs. Shit was tight.
Did anything crazy happen? Seen my nigga Linco stage dive and land on someone’s head lmao.
Do you think you have a different sound from other producers in Chicago? Kinda, Yeah. Most Chicago producers I know make trap influence beats of course. Or soul because of the whole Chance the Rapper wave and shit. I just be on my own shit.
What genre do you fall into? I honestly don’t know and I like it that way. Rather not put myself in a box. I just make music.
Any future collabs? Not too many in the works now because I don’t really work with people like that. A lot of collabs I do wanna do in the future though with bigger artist of course.
New music coming soon? Yeah, I have a EP dropping late April or early May. Still working on it right now though.
What can we expect this year? This EP and hopefully my first album I’ve been working on for a year. $illMoney Vs. Cyrax! dropping very soon too.How did end up linking with the rest of Divine Council? It was through Twitter. I was already big fans of their music so I started sending them beats and shit. Then one day $ilk called me and was like “So who you rocking with? Like who you feel like you associate yourself with?” And I was like “nobody, honestly”. Then he was like “Well we been talking and shit and was wondering if you’d be down to be in the Council.” The rest is history.
